Those will never work. You should ship them to me for immediate disposal. I'll PM you my address.

Ignore Paul; they are too pretty to use!
They should be shipped to
my soon-to-be-founded
Museum of Fine Tools where they will be properly honored and preserved in our temperate tidewater environment!
I will, of course, be forced to demonstrate their use, from time to time, even if there are no visitors present. (A "practice demonstration" if you will. Of course. If you don't use them a little, they'll go bad...)

Those stakes will never work for you, they were built sideways. I'm further south where the earth is at a different angle, so ship them to me and I'll test them. For a long time.
Nice work.

Good job. Jolly well done.
May you pound long and prosper.
Hal
PS:
I finished up this kit for overseas shipping today.

Too bad they are 2 pounds overweight for the flat rate box.

I'll get the new socket bolted to my bench today and I think by tomorrow I'll get to try them out.
Sean, the doughnut started out as a giant eye bolt a buddy gave me a few years ago, I chopped off the threads, ground the shoulder off smooth and polished it up, Then it's welded to a 1 1/4" piece of 4x4" steel tube on the base plate. I'd still like to go into it a bit with a die grinder, there are some forming marks on it that i think could gouge up my steel if i dish something to deep enough in it.
