I do believe that it can as shown by the dos aguas garniture, it would just means the helmet closes over the gorget alittle differently.

Thanks for the hint about the dos aguas garniture! I saw what you wrote, but my brain didn't process it right, so I didn't look it up until now.

Ok, so I've modified the cuirass so the gorget now fits under it. I've moved on from improving the gorget for now because it was really frustrating me. I also improved the arms and made them fully articulated. I will try to post pictures if I can remember how to do it. It's been so long that I kind of forgot how, so I will need to scroll through some posts again.

Have you ever gotten around to finishing your armor? I'm working on a similar project myself and would love to see how yours is looking!

I will post an image of mine sometime when I get the chance and motivation. I haven’t made a ton of progress since it was last shown probably. Just a few small changes. I consider this project something that I’m still working on, but I haven’t done much recently on it.

I'm still working on the cuirass as of right now. I've sketched a churburg sometime ago because I love how it looks but with the set that I'm going for I'm actually gonna need faulds and tassets, so I'm trying my hand at that 15thc italian style pattern from Sinric. I don't know how to post images yet, but as soon as I figure it out I'll show you how it looks so far.

I'm having a hard time fitting it to my body though. It fits nicely around the waist but it widens quite a bit at the collarbone and the arm holes don't seem right either, since they keep catching on the inside of my biceps. I've marked around to try and work a few slits on the shape, so here's hoping it'll make it a little better!

So this is actually not from Sinric's patterns, this is my first attempt at a self made pattern. It fits poorly around the collarbone, but it sits nicely around the waist.

Thank you so much! Yes it was, I took some liberties here and there to make it look somewhat historical though

I struggled with finding good reference photos when sketching and building the actual helmet but have recently found somewhere around the forums here the allenantiques website with its vast gallery. Needless to say, my hands are itching to remake the whole thing!

Between one piece breastplates vs composed ones, what would y'all recomend based on personal prefference?

Wow!! All of your pieces are so beautiful! I love the seamless looking curves on all of your pieces! Everything is so smooth...

You've really got talent when it comes to defining a 3 dimensional curve!

Your suit is looking incredible!!! Are you planning on adding any trims to it? Are you gonna paint it metalic or will you rock out the cardboard look?

Also, thank you for the compliment! I've practiced a bit on pepakura and foam so that I can make patterns that work best with the types of materials that we're using for our suits. I also tend to crush the fibers in the cardboard as much as I can while forming the pieces before assembling everything. I found that it can help quite a lot! Maybe give it a try and let me know what you think and if if works for you too? We can even exchange notes! :D

Thanks! I am planning on keeping the cardboard look. I will eventually paint over the tape to make it blend in for some spots and for others paint it to look like leather. I have never thought about actually decorating the armor with a trim, but now it sounds like it would look nice! I don’t want to paint the whole suit metallic because it’s more of the form and mechanical aspects that matter to me. If I painted it metallic then it would be attempting to look like a real metal suit of armor, and it couldn’t live up to being real armor because it isn’t. Also I like the thought of cardboard because it’s kind of unique and I do want to “rock” the cardboard look. 8)

Well, for durability sake, are you going to resin coat it then or find some way to stiffen it up once it's all said and done?
