Anyone have one or a link to one? I have somebody who sounds like they have a pair and I'd like to confirm it, so I need to send him a picture of them.

They are generally pretty rough, but he doesn't claim that they are anything else. I think that his thumbs are one large sort of pork-chop shaped things with one rivet holding it to the metacarpal. I could be wrong, though.

Hey, J.P. I'm sorry I don't have a pic of any such gauntlets, but I've seen them in person, and they aren't bad at all.

Incidentally, I met Gillian (sp?) at practice a couple of days ago. She said you'd be in town on the weekend of the 28th. Is this so? If it is, then I hope you can find the time to have a beer with me. Drop me an e-mail when you get the chance.

And Shepherds we shall be
for thee my lord for thee
power hath descended forth from thy hand
so that my feet may swiftly carry out thy command
And we shall flow a river forth unto thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be
In nomini patriath, fili, espritus sancti.

yeah the thumb consists of that pork-chop shaped piece with the thumbtip riveted to that with a leather strap.

i own a pair of andy ward gaunts and i am quite happy with em. they protect well and are light(for steel gaunts).

mine are his $60 mild steel gaunts.

i would recommend them to anyone looking for inexpensive gaunts. i would post a pic of em if i had one

He has recently changed the thumb design and it is now leather articulated (I have not seen photo of the new design...).

I have pics of his gaunts, send me an email and I'll get copies to you.
