I'm wanting to make a padded gambeson but lack a pattern. I have the materials. Possibly an idea. Does anyone know of a site that has patterns thatI can look at? Thanks.

Try the one at www.sewingcentral.com. I am making mine from this one, nearly completed. Very easy pattern and it has some nifty features suck as pockets for plates in the skirt and a collar so you don't have to put foam on your gorget. I did not sew the arms to the body and of course omitted the gussets, the arms will lace on at the top of the shoulder to help ventilation, and when it is really hot, can be taken off completely.

If you decide that making one is too much hassle, I really like the one I bought from Wessex County Wares:

Why yes, it's me!
I do the web site work for them. Unfortunately, it's not much of a web site, because crosswinds.net sucks. They shut down FTP functionality and now make you use a web browser interface to manage files. How lame. It's why I moved my web site to a pay-server (it's got to be pretty sucky to make free look bad, I tell ya).
Thanks for the compliments on the Master Geoffrey patch! I can't wait to be attached to a Master G helm!

Massa G's work is excellent. The barbute that he has for sale on his site right now is particularly nice. I am sure that someone could become quite attached to that one. Too bad it's not me
