When I have the facegrill welded for the helm thatI'm going to build, should I have it arch welded or MiG welded? Which is best?
I've been told from tow different people that both are the best for stainless. Is there a best?
Thank you.

it all depends on who is welding it you can get very good welds with an ark welder. but there tends to be a lot of cleen up and it may burn through the steel. mig will look better but it can be harder to tell the quality untill you test it if you take it to an experinced welder they will tell you that a tig weld would be the best but the equipment is a bit expencive. The question is more of what the welder is best at. either test the piece before you wear it in to battle.

Mig weld.
In most states auto repair is by law MIG. or TIG, 'not ARC' for they are more reliable.
But someone good with and ARC can do you just fine.
It's still your ballpark.

I also say MIG it. Its what my dad does to our helmet tops and they're pretty damned strong.

if i understand you post you are going to have someone else do it? id suggest the welder choose the mothod he/she is most comfortable with, done correctly either should be fine
