could someone either tell me how or give me a link on how to make a pouch out of chain maile please. i've messed around and made some rings and did a 4in1 pattern and have a few small sheets of the maile but i would actually like to make something and i thought a bag would be a good place to start. thanks

My grandma has a maille bag, probably victorianish era, that looks pretty easy to make. It consists of four squares of equal size all connected to the sides of another square of equal size in a cross shape. Each square is then linked together to make a cub like design, and then leather(they used some kind of clasp) could be woven through the links to make a tie for the top edge. just an idea though.

I have some pics on my site of three maille purses from the early part of the last century..
here's the link to that page:
http://mailmaker.tripod.com/purses.htmland there are some other purses/bags that I made in another part of my site:
http://mailmaker.tripod.com/other.htmlmight be able to get some ideas from those...
one is made out of two sheets connected at the sides (similar to how the ones from the early 1900's were put together), and the other is made like a small coif with no face opening or mantle.
edit: just realized that the pics in the first link I posted were stored in my geocities directory which seems to be dead... guess I need to take a look at my site and see what pics need replacing

nice site btw. you have a small aluminum bag picture on the site that looks like what i was thinking of, "The bottom of it is made
kinda like the cap on a coif using the expanding rings method." this is the part i don't understand.
