Looks nice Jiri!
I'm too darned lazy to try one in two halves. Mine are all either in three welded pieces (like the one I'm working on now) or two skull halves with the skirt riveted on.
I really should try one like your'se though.
Keep the pics coming!

I have a question. How do you keep the corner (the place where the 'eye slot' and the cheek guard intersect) from cracking. I have tried to make one like that but the corner kept spliting on me. I annealed the piece by heating to a high red heat and then burying in vermiculite. After an hour or till it cooled it was quite soft but the crack turned into a tear.
Thanks,
Landen

To avoid cracks in corners: At your corner, cut the metal in a semi-circle instead of a sharp corner. Then when you are finished shaping your piece, go back and cut out the sharp corner from the semi-circle. Works every time...

That was actually the first thing i tried. I figured it works in leather and should work in metal. But it didn't work for me. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Try making your semi-circle larger; at least 3-4 inches in diameter. Always works for me.

Jiri's method is the one I use too. Just cut it a bit bigger, let it crack and then cut or grind it away. Simple.
Sometimes even a semicircle won't stand up to some of the stresses we put the metal through. Most of the time it will, but not always.

I will try this on the next piece and let you know.
