The Armour Archive

I'm looking for spaulders, elbow/knee cops, clamshell gauntlets, back/breast plate, and helmet (basically full kit) for SCA combat. I'm also working off a budget (aren't we all)...

Has anyone bought from or have an opinion on the items produced by Truehearth Armoury or Dubé Armoury? What about the gauntlets from Historical Arms?

I have heard a lot of great things about this armoury. His name is Lewis Moore and there has been a few posts about him and his work on these boards. here is his site:

I just special ordered a S/S bascinet from him and his customer service is great, he definately seems to go out of the way to understand what you are looking for. Everyone has been giving his work rave reveiws. I hope to see it first hand in about a week or so. Oh yeah, the prices are very reasonable also.

he his truly a Master armourer. His work his very clean and crisp.

Communication was good... but could of been better

when a wanted my breastplate and backplate my first idea was to order from him but in the I went and order from Guillaume Coté wich his a member here. His archive name is Guillaume 2. its called armure durame. you can also see the pauldrons from dubé

the big factor that made me go with guillame was that communication with him was awseome and his prices were more to my taste


so both are good armourers.. but guillame is a lot more resonable in terms of prices... that may be an important factor in your decision.. Dubé charges more (I think) because he has more experience and he is a professional. his prices reflect this

For gauntlets, and everything else , I also strongly suggest Sasuke
commucations with him is also awesome and my god! he is very talented!
