So the general consensus here seems to be that Andy Ward gauntlets are the best way to go for maximum protection at minimul price. Am I correct? Who out there has a pair, and what kind of experience have you had with them? Also, what would I need to do to strap them and what would you recomend for gloves? Any response is appreciated.
Thanks!
John

I have a pair, they seem to offer very good protection. Rivit second and third finger tips onto gauntlet, and thumb tip. run a strip of leather across the palm. I used just regular mens leather work gloves. I do recommend adding a little padding at the base of the thumb.
Hope this helps.

I have owned 2 pair, his 90% and 100% 16 guage stainless
I strapped the 100% with a lightly padded
street hockey glove on the inside.
one strap across the palm, sewed the tip of the thumb
to the glove through 2 1/8 inch holes i punched
i ran a strap across the last finger lame
then i sewed the fingers of the glove to this
strap by looping sinew through the "breath"
holes that were allready in the glove around
the leather strap, my fingers can move around
as much as the gauntlets allow and they NEVER slip out

oh, and another important strap,
get a very small buckle and put a strap
that goes around your wrist and around
the gauntlet so the strap lays against
the outside of the leather articulation
and against the inside of your wrists.
i found this eliminates the gauntlet from
pulling itself out of position while throwing
shots. this is only my opinion results may vary
