I would like to share my last improvement in riveted maille technology

(last improvement? hahaha well...)
I put togheter ALL the tools needed in one.. this to me cut down a good 25% in production time, especially in the weaving phase.

This is the tool.. in reality the tooth in this tongs is a bit short.. so for punching i use the old one...
But with this i can push the rivet trough the ring, cut, pien.. and without dropping the tool.. for me a good solution..
Hope you like it (ok is really rough.. but it works!)

that is an extremely useful tool to people who do riveted maille.(obviously) How long did it take you to make. and if you were to sell it how much would one like that cost. you could probably make quite a bit of money on that.

I thinked a bit about selling it.. but then i preferred to share it to all of you, i took 2 days, mainly to tweak the tooth, shaping it in function of the shape of the rivet. Then i re-heat treated the tongs because welding the upper plate, the tooth annealed. I always fear that the tooth crush or bends (too brittle or too soft? until now it had no problem).
The tongs were very cheap drop forged (paid 3 Euro i think) but a good pair of tong would cost from 12 to 17 euro, and if you add the time to tweak it, and the mini fraise of the dremel employed.. i think is much better that anyone try to make it or make it in the way that is useful for him/her.

I'm confused as to what all this tool does.
I know the deep pocket is for pushing the rivet through the ring.
The piening pocket is obviously for setting the rivet.
What are you cutting?

i use a short nail as rivet.. it is long 6mm.. too much for my purpose.. so i have to cut it after i have pushed it trough the ring.
The cutting part have a slot so it is useful to cut rings from the coil
