Black and White Burgeonet at Pennsic

Post by Alcyoneus »

A friend of mine (Glendour- Talon Armory) had this helm on display at Pennsic, and I was wondering if any of you saw it and what did you think? I saw it before it was finished and painted, and was curious.

I saw that. It looked pretty spiffy. Since I was shopping for a different style, I didn't do an internal exam, but from the outside it was quite handsome.

Buying a helm like that would force a guy to upgrade the rest of his kit pretty quickly, I think... (Was that actually priced at $1400, or did my speed-reading skills fail me?)

Al, I did indeed see it. If was awesome. There were a couple of things about it that made me pause.

1) The price.
2) The cleanliness of the lines. While the paint was beautiful at a distance of 5 feet, some of the lines were not very straight and clean. I don't know if they weren't supposed to be, but that is one thing I noticed.

OTW, it was awesome. I do agree with Pietro, it would make you have to rearmour to match it. Perhaps if I every get a few thousand dollars (hah) I'll ask Glendour (hah commission right?) to make me a whole suit.

If it was $1400, then I would assume it was a raised helmet - which is pretty much the going price for any sort of complex raised helmet. If it weren't raised, then I doubt it worth the price.

The helmet is raised from 13g steel with a hammer.
