Right well..straight to the point then..This last week end i indulged in a bit of armour working,i cut my chain to better fit, and since i now have a huge amount of extra chain i am looking to make a standard..Now i do not know if 'standard' is the exact terms but i only have so much info..i want to make a chainmail gorget i suppose..does anyone else use on of these ?? if so how did you make it ? could you possible help me with patterns,advice and such..

I have since had folks tell me that these "collars" were merely the top portion of a fuller standard.

ok as far as i know that is the only protection they use is a thick piece of leather usually about 3/4 inch hard leather with a tail of chain around the whole piece..with a buckle strap attachment at the back of the neck..As far as i know that is the way they are worn..
