A question for all you blacksmiths out there, is this setup worth buying?
and if so what would you pay for it?

Forge buying advice
It looks like it's in good condition. The portability may be slightly exaggerated depending on how easy it is to break down. It's more mobile than many setups, though.
Current price of $360 is excellent, but below the reserve. If I were looking for such a setup, I'd probably go to $500 depending on shipping/transportation.
I paid $225 for a 110 lb double horned anvil and $85 for a less than functional forge that I repaired myself. It is a smaller forge and uses a handcrank blower. That one is considerably nicer.

I like some aspects of that setup. I doubt that I would hesitate to drop around <$500 for it.

Looks like you will need a truck to transport it; good looking forge and postvise, how big was that anvil? I'd say that as "new" equipment $500 is cheap, look at the prices in the centaur forge catalog!
However you can find all the stuff well used fairly cheap with searching, (we were paying $20-$50 for post vises in OH)
If you don't get it, go to Quad-State and there will be close to 100 anvils for sale on-site along with forges, firepots, tools, vises (marked up from what we found them for!), etc. It's 11 days from today the last weekend in September in Troy OH, www.sofasounds.com has a link to the conference web site.
Thomas---tell the folks with the flaming anvil that the fellow in the disreputable red hat sent you!

Thanks for the advice guys.
I now have the oiption to buy the setup for my maximum bid 550 which seems pretty reasonable to me. The catch is shipping the dang thing. Tennessee is a loong way from here and shipping looks to break the deal. He did mention that he would bring it up to Quad-State, but that is still a haul. Anyone from PA or NY going out to Quad-State and has a pickup with room to spare I might be willing to work some kind of deal.
