Are there different periods where one lining material were much more predominant (or even completely absent) than others?
Same question for methods of attachment. Glued/riveted/sewn? Obviously, where there are leather straps articulating the pauldrons, I can use those rivets, but the main pauldron has large empty areas better glued down, and I could punch small holes along some edges and sew it down there.
I'm going to edge my great bascinet for this reason as well, but on that I will use light-medium weight smooth leather and punch small holes and sew it down. I'm tired of it scratching the pauldrons too.
