Armour Tree/Display

Post by LordWulf »

In an attempt to clean up my house some and organize all this youth combat armour I've made and consequently have all over the house..... I designed my own little armour trees/displays.....

Now you're asking yourselves, "Why are you posting this in here ???". Because it's got to do with armour and I am going to tell you how to to construct it !!!!!!!

It's actually REALLY simple for light armours and I'm sure could be modified for larger rigs and stuff.....

Anyhow......

First off, I scrapped some of the 2x2x36 Colonial Posts from the porch.... these form the length of it, AND part of one also forms the crossbar.....

Just cut the post at each of the rounded work, drill a hole in the middle of it, nail or screw it to the top of a complete post..... then nail this to a 20" round piece of plywood which can be painted up with your device as well :P

I've made some "L" brackets to support the post and put them on the pole and screwed to the base....... lacquered the whole thing black and viola..... instant tree for displaying armour...... I find I can put on suit on the bottom resting on the base and one suit across the top on the arms.....

I finished that model up last week and used it in a few photos...... but then I created more armour and needed more space.......

So to those ends I enlarged the base to 22" and added 4 posts to it..... two of them have arms on them, and two of them have round pieces on top to put helms on...... all are supported with "L" brackets, and the whole thing will be done over with black lacquer this weekend...... I'm also going to make a little plaque with my armoury's logo on it....... I'll post pics of both the trees when I am done.......
What we do in life, echoes in eternity !!!!
