Stupid question... maybe?-

Post by DELETEMYACCOUNT »

Would anyone be interested in making the fingers for finger gauntlets? It would be for rattan combat and I'd need JUST the fingers. I have an idea for making hand protection that would kinda disappead to the eye but I'd need the fingers to do that. Again, it would be for rattan combat and would need to be able to pass instpection at places like pennsic.
I'm just curious to see if this idea would actually work.
Thanks!

Email Gruber directly - mine were sort of a proto-type, so the price I got might not be valid still....

Thanks a lot Irish, I appreciate you taking the time :)
So, what's your version? I was thinking of doing a hand off the end of my bazubands like I've seen pictures of the Timurids doing. I love my House of the Wolf gauntlets, but this is an interesting idea to me.

Sorry I couldn't give you a firm price, but Gruber and I had a "proto-type price" and I wouldn't want to give you a number that was way off, or hey couldn't honor...

Mine are going to be basiclly a leather 1/2 gauntlet with knuckles, finger and thumb assembly out of blackened spring steel - protection should be more than enough, but the black fingers and thumbs would blend in better with my early period rig - much better than shiny steel late period versions.

As soon as I finish them, I'll try to post photos...

I understand totally about the price thing. You wouldnt have Grubers email handy would you?
Your idea sounds great. If the bazubands thing doesnt work I might try that out as a plan b.

I would love to see pics of your design.
That sounds exciting... the blend of leather and steel.

I am on my 3rd. gauntlet and all have failed so far.

Hal

Ps: Good luck on your quest Animal.
