Linking different weaves

Post by Fearghaill »

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to go about linking 2 different maile weaves, namely 6-in-1 and 4-in-1.

Basically, I am creating my first maile shirt, and I would like to have the breast (or the breast and back) made of 6-in-1, and the rest of 4-in-1.

make the 2 peices. place them side by side.ensure the weave directions are going the same way. insert a ring thru the rings on the edge, in standard 4 in 1 fashion.

It's pretty easy really. The ring that connects the two pieces together is going to have to go through 5 rings total. It's going to go through 3 rings in the 6-1 section and 2 rings in the 4-1 section. Does that make sense?
