Bargrill looks to be WAY too close to the face.

Well, for one I'd say that the occulars, unless the whole thing is welded in place, woulnd't pass inspection. 1/8" rivets and only 3, they are far too appart to meet society safety standards. Other than that, provided that the cheek pieces and back plate aren't spot welded it should be fine, other than the grill work previously mentionned.

the rivits on the brow should make no diff in its passing inspection, the occular is ontop so it realy cant be pushed into the face if there was a rivit failure, i put occulars on with 3 1/8th in rivits,
Id say not supporting the grill with a central bar is a bad idea, would likely be ok
Kings lance may be selling it but its an armour store helmet.
I have no grips with it other than it does not realy resemble any particular historical helm.

I could never get the bars over my nose to even get it on! I can't believe anyone making a helm would think it was "normal" to place the bars an inch behind the nasal. You don't need an anatomy class to figure that one out!

On the plus side...it's not just made from ordinary 14 ga...but hand forged 14 ga!

Was not this exact helm dissected (to its disadvantage) from the same people on this forum who tore up the Pigs In Space Helm? It looks exactly like the helm that started another thread here that said, in effect, "improving but still crappy," and which ended with someone who had handled the helm in the metal and who detailed for us its design woes. It sounds like an attempt at making an SCA helm by someone who knows metal, but has only heard SCA helms described, without ever having actually seen one, or fought in it.

Hmmmm.... that really looks like a rip off of an Armour Store viking (my first helm). I wonder if they took measurements off one. I'm not a big fan of Brand, all of my stuff is from Anshelm, but I hate seeing someones designs being used without their consent. Then again, it could just be coincidence.

It needs a bar down the middle for stability.
