Before anyone says anything. I am very aware that bracers are not particularly period for the middle ages. I just finished these for a customer and wanted to share.

Thanks Tim, A personal project coming up that might interest you. I already have some line drawings of the open bronze plate work for belts that was found in Birka. I am going to make myself a Norse belt and tool those patterns in and paint them with bronze colored metalics. I am no good with metal work, and believe it or not, tooled and painted, it is hard to tell that it is not plate work until you get real, real, close.

Bracers in terms of being used by archers were used in the 'middle ages'. One tooled one was pulled up from the mary rose and a few others have been found also. though i understand this hardly makes them common, they were used seperate from any type of arm harness.
