Copper armour

Was copper ever used for chainmaille or any type of armour?

One of the guys i fight with has copper scales on his upper arms, it gets bent alot but looks really good

There has been varoius mentions on the board to the Celts using copper and bronze rings for mail. I currently have a copper shirt in the works and it looks awesome.
