Mandala Wool

Post by James C »

Ok i know nothing of wool but i found some 'Mandala Wool' in a craft store. I was wondering if this would be a good material to use for helmet liners, arming caps or something. Or is it made out of a synthetic?

It is natural, coming from sheep. It is good padding material because it is raw and uncombed. Fibres do not readily compact so it maintains its shape and easy to wash. Just in warm water, let hang to dry. In many cultures, the mandala symbolises the eternal wheel of life.

I susepct it would be very hot though, you might want to try horsehair instead.

But is it safe? I heard there were diseases you could catch from raw foreign wools, anthrax being one.

The wool sold here is found or grown here, and while it is raw and uncombed, it is treated for marketing here.
