Uilleag, that stuff is seriously gorgeous.

You gotta start using period buckles for pieces like that.

A period buckle supplier are definately on the agenda at the war. Something appropriate and cost effective, so the price doesn't have to go up too much.

Making them myself is not an option at this point. At least I've stopped using rapid rivets! :P

Everything will be available at Pennsic from Mandrake Armory. The harness will be on display for the entire War, come by and see it and ask questions and see what else we have to offer!

Awesome! I'm curious, would a backplate be period for the mid-14th century? I know I mentioned a commission to you, and think I'd probably want just the chestplate. Could you give me a quote for just that?

Thanks, and beautiful stuff!

Have fun a Pennsic, guys!

No, a back plate would not be period, I include it, because kedney protection is a requirement for SCA fighting.

I will put together a quote for your commission on my return from Penssic.

Uilleag,

When I think back to the first piece of leather crafting I saw where you used a wood burner to etch the leather, and I see this set now I am amazed.

Aeden says " That is some kick a** work"
Raynor says "It looks good."

and I think it's some of the best work I have ever seen you turn out. Many sounds of amazed awe came from those around my computer monitor as we looked at the finished product. Makes me want to armour up, just so I can show off your stuff..... now if I just started fighting... :D

You guys should see this in person! I dropped by Mandrake's booth at Pennsic and was able to view these pieces. The photos do not do them enough justice. Kudos again to Dan.
