Wasn't sure if I should post this in design & construction or historical research...

The 'typical' Wisby Gauntlet pattern is 'type 3', which supposes AT LEAST two other wisby gauntlets, can anyone enlighten as to what they look like?

I am especially interested in the one reportedly made of baleen (whalebone).

Thanks,

Your best bet would be to look at the book Armor from the Battle of Wisby: 1361. It has a section devoted to gauntlets found at the Wisby site, complete with pictures of the recovered artifacts and diagrams of how the plates might have looked before they sat in the ground for six hundred years.

When I got the book from my library, I made copies of that section. If I had them with me, I'd see about scanning in some of the pictures for you, but I'm afraid the copies are a good three hours away. Here's a link to the book though.
