Halloween 2005

Post by wcallen »

Well, this year was way too occupied with normal work. I was about to start on some simple new stuff and my kid wandered into the armour room and decided that he wanted to wear the old suit I made years ago for someone else. It is probably the only year it wil fit him, so I went along with it. I cleaned it up and got Tracy to make new clothing to go with it. She made him a nice little arming doublet to suspend the legs and a nice gambeson based on the Charles de Blois piece. Anyway, here are the pics for this year:

I will try to do better next year.

Anyone else have any fun halloween bits?

One lucky kid, thats an awsome set up for him. I see he has a shield but where is his sword  ?

Heres what my daughter demanded out of me this halloween http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=52055 Wish I had some nice clear photos but I dont (maybe in 5months when it quits raining, IF it still fits her).

Mine would have gotten aluminum foil at that age. That looks great.

I have a question about the attachments. You have the leg and shoulder armour attached to points on the gambeson. Was this the traditional way to do it or just out of convenience? Was the armour attached by just about anything that would work (ie. waist belts, gallouses, yokes, harnesse)?
