Current Update
Hi all,
Well, I've moved the shop into storage, but have made intermediate plans to finish the 5 commissions I have in Master Valerius' basement shop. I'm agressively looking for a new studio in Milwaukee, and should resume shop work shortly.
Thank you all for your patience. If anyone wishes to cancel their order, I will understand and immediately send a refund for the deposit.
Yours,
-Chuck Davis/Cad

Hi all,
Well, I meet with a guy named Brian O'Malley at the Milwaukee Enterprise Center
on Friday. This is the same building that Valerius rented in over 10 years ago. [and
he remembered him....in a nice way too].
Well, he showed me this space filled with stuff. Seems that the last occupant
was a pack rat and has passed away reciently. He actually had 2 spaces, and
the other one took awhile to clean out.
We got talking and Brian offered me a deal! Not only is the space great for a
shop [1250 sq ft], they want me to clean it out for 2 months free rent and the security
deposit!!!!! He thinks it will take me 2 months, I think it will take 2 weeks,
if that! I'm motivated to get this project moving. Get my art business up and
running. The MEC will even help me with business plans! Talk about luck.
Brian droped off a proposal for me to look over this weekend. I'm flying! Not only that, but this morning while running I designed a whole line fo cool metal vases and vessels based on Japanese helmets. I can't wait. If all goes well, I will be cleaning the space starting next monday.
All I have to do is get some libility insurance.

hell no you didnt scare me off your Grace!! you guys rock... Im here for work until sept.. ( divorce is "forcing" me to get an education so I can make better money and since I graduated HS in Cincinnati tutition is cheaper as well as a good lot of family who will take care of the starving college student.)
My brother is looking for the land right now and going to get that purchased asap. once I got capital up and divorce done ( my brother is getting divorced after 11 years of marrage as well) ill be moving my stuff up to Ohio. IF i dont get setup in time and and or my Pop scores a good contract ill be coming back to Tx to make money. construction is an easy market in texas. the guy with one eye in the land of the blind is king:-) Alabama is my all time favorite place to do commerical work, there anyone NOT born there is genious:-)
both he and I are major hobby shop hounds so we figured a metal building with 5000 sq ft would be enough for my armor/woodshop and his auto restoration. the funny thing is the house will only be about 1600 sq ft ( not including basement) and the shop will still be half the cost to build.

Welcome to the Area, Sir.
A smith myself, I'm on the other side of the river from Cincinnati. If you need a hand, I'd be glad to help.
