I'm looking at some of the helms for "parade" armor (I think their visorless 'Shooter's Sallet', pr-8.1, would look very nice for the 15th c. Italian footman I'm portraying) and I'm curious if anyone here's ordered from them.

How are their customer communications, delivery schedules, and overall quality.

Thanks in advance!

Just a quickie here, maybe mor elater, gotta run...

some of their armor is absolute crap, while most of the stuff is average to above average quality for the Czechs. They are among the most professional of the Czechs. Duties and shipping cost may be a ral bummer, if you have a buddy in Germany, have him order the stuff and reiumburse him. The stuff is not SCA legal.

If you need to know more fell free to email me

I ordered the open-faced archer's salade, C. 1430. It was $90.00. Came to about $145.00 w/shipping.
It is a light, nicely fitting helmet for an archer, but it is welded at the crown from two pieces, and at the nape. The welds were good, but the grinding sloppy. It came polished, but I had to grind out the weld marks then repolish.
The rivets are decorative, only two being used for a chin strap. I removed as many as needed to put on a decent leather suspension liner and re-riveted.
My opinion? Good people, quick delivery and I got what I expected. You could get just as nice of a helmet from some of the armourers on this board for the same price, though, if you include the high shipping.
It is light enough to ride with and is easy to shoot a crossbow or longbow with.

If you are going to go through the hastle of ordering from a Czech armoury Id reccomend MJ, excellent quality, some of his 14th cent stuff looks kinda odd but his 15th cent work is nice quality

have you got contact info for MJ?

any suggestions who here could undertake a helmet like that? I'm picturing it as part of my "parade" armor, for demos, guard duty, and standing around looking authentically cool... Image

A couple of hints.
They speak broken english. I have found it helpful to email them in english (keep your sentences very simple) and I provide a german translation.

Send all your measurements in metric.
