Which breastplate?

Alright, here's the deal:
I'm relatively new to the actual production of plate armour (As I live in an apartment) but have been studying for years. I've come across a workroom in the basement, and am working on my first suit.
Due to my love of sparrows-beak armets (I don't intend to make this. I'm gonna at some point, hopefully the 25th, get the Armour&castings one) and fancy gauntlets, I've decided to go early fifteenth century Italian. I made some spaulders awhile ago, and I'm working on a pair of arms off of a pattern I found here on the archive (fifteenth century arms). It's going...OK.
My plan is to use some leftover links from my byrnie to make some rivited sleeves and possibly a skirt. The arms go under the sleeves and the spaulders over it. Then I get the armet, make finger gauntlets (probably after the arms and this breastplate) and put some legs under the skirt and wear boots.
This leaves out chest and back protection. This is my quandry. I want something period, but the only prevalent option seems to be from churburg 18. This, however, is out of my league. I was considerring simplifying it, but I was also wonderring whether there were any simpler 15th century italian breastplates.
