Dont laugh .... I understand plastic armour in this forum is generally not accepted too well to say the least but I was looking for a word on its functionality , construction and its over all appearance .... the picture doesnt have enough detail to make a judgement for myself

also what type of helm would go with this

Hello.

Looks a bit like the stuff from Dark Victory.

Breastplate is Churburg- ish,
Tassets are tassette- ish late 15th century- ish,
Shoulders are lorica segmentata- ish...
Haute Guards are post- 1480- ish,

so basically you could combine it with just about any helmet from Imperial Rome to about AD 1500. The result should be as medieval- ish as it gets. Or buy a spuntop bascinet and a tabard to cover the armour. :D

Seriously, that´s sporting armour serving protective purposes only.

Regards

Albrecht, this body armor was discussed here a couple months ago when a fellow with an ineradicable fondness for haute-guards brought it to our attention.

We chewed it over, and about the kindest thing anyone said for it was that certain parts of it might make good innards for a coat of plates -- but those tasset-like objects wouldn't be functional. As for lorica shoulders with late-fifteenth haute-guards on them -- ha.
