bargrill question

For use in SCA, would a rivetted bargril work on an open face bascinet without a vertical center bar? Or would that be too prone to failure?

In my experience unsupported bars of that width will be prone to bending, even with stainless bars. Also, with only two rivet points the bars can potentially pivot on the rivets just like a shell articulation.

Years ago, I went to making bargrills only with a center bar. Makes the grill MUCH stronger, more stable.
