I've done a search through old post here and found information on knuckle riders on hourglass gauntlets. What I haven't found is info on how the finger lames are attached. I know they are typically riveted to a leather strip that is sewn to a glove. But how does this strip attach to the body of the gaunltet? I would have to guess it attaches to the nuckler rider not the main body of the gauntlet. But that is just a guess. So those of you in the know, whats the scoop?

Yes, the Knuckle rider (if present) serve to "lenghten" the fingers as you close the fist. The leather of the fingers is riveted to the knuckle rider, when the hand is open, the rider sit under the metacarpal plate, when the fist is closed, the rider apear in front of the knuckles to seal any open spots.

Yeah, the finger leathers are attached to the knuckle rider. The knuckle rider isn;t just cosmetic. It really helps function. A couple pics:
