what shapes were used? i think i have the the basics down after doing this experiment im wanting to do prity much what is in the link again but make them in to some spiffy ailettes

i feel up to doing some sort of minor armouring peice and i think that ailettes would do nicely. another question were they attached useing laces to mail sleves? that is the only way i can logicaly think of attaching them without resorting to staples.

Most commonly, rectangles were used, however there are a few examples of exceptions. Shield shapes, and circles have also been documented, but most usually rectangles.
