Cherburg 13

All write there is Way to many Questions on this peice. Does any one know A person in Itally who can actually go see this peice? I know that the Casstle it is only open durring certain times f the year. There are just to many Questions on it. Does it use slideing rivets? How thick is the Linning? What are the shadows that show through the linning for on the back? A detail drawing of the Lance Rest that shows the locking mechenisim? I just want A good inspection of the peice and good notes and photos. Ones that are closer and more detailed. I would like to get an Idea of how deep the Engraving lines are on the Brass. Why is there no rivets accept on the center plate that show through to the back. We all can only speculate on this peice. Lets just get the answers.
If this peice did not exist I could under stand all the qustion. But since it does and this board reaches all over the world. Why can we not find out, ther must be one member in Eroup that could help.

I could have sworn the piece was in France and not Italy. Right there on the beaches of Normandy.

It's the unhappy truth that Knoch got really bad grades in English and in Spelling. He means Churburg.

I think (hope) that it's still in Schloss Churburg, in Austria. I am going there in October and will be particularly interested in the #13 breastplate, as I have been working on one for a while. So, if you can wait, I'm happy to provide any info that I can gain from the visit. By the way, I have only seen one repro here in Australia / Lochac, so they apparently are not as common here as elsewhere.

here are the hours of operation
The Churburg traditionally opens on the 20th of March.
Our doors are open for visitors until the 31st of October.
10.00 to 12.00 (last guided tour at 12.00)
14.00 to 16.30 (last guided tour at 16.30)
(Closed Mondays, except for holidays)
cost is 6 €. You need to make sure the guy that can give permission for photos is there or you have contacted him prior to visiting. They have copies of the armoury book for sale in the gift store, the people are friendly there and several of them speak Italian, German, and English.
It is in a very small town on an out of the way road up into the mountains in northern italy, not real close to anything else.
Enjoy the countryside, it is in a beautiful location.
