I just found a Bosch 1506 metal shear at a yard sale and the motor works fine. I tried it on a piece of metal and it cuts about an inch and then stops cutting. The upper blade keeps sliding up and so it's no longer cutting. I've tried tightening the screw as much as I could but it doesn't seem to help. I don't know anything about this thing. The picture in the online manual seems to have a washer and lock washer but mine doesn't have either. I tried adding a washer but it didn't help. Does a lock washer make that much difference? Is there something else I'm doing wrong?

ha, im not sure what to say, other than that a new set of blades might help alot and might include the required hardwear. im just curious, how much did you get 'er for? ive been wanting one of those for years.

Uhm probably the shear work, but you need to push it ahead to force the tool to move into the cut, depending on where and what you are cutting, it may need some force, remember to oil the cut.

i dont know if this helps but i have had the metal curl ip into the shear and hold it tight, thats real annoying

I think it is probably garbage and you should throw it away. But to save you the trouble, I'll give you $20 for it.

Seriously though, try pushing down on one side of the metal and pulling up on the other. Or, the blades may need to be closer together or further apart. Just mess around with the gap until it works. It is a good little tool if you can get it to work.

oh, I get it..... there's an adjustment screw that butts up against the top of the blade.....now it stays in position! this thing is awesome.... it cuts through 16 gauge like a hot knife thru butter....

And one more person sees why these things are better then a beverly. I woulda helped but mine's a makita and they're all a little different.
