Finished Project -- Late Roman Helmet

Post by Alec »

Here's my latest prjoject. Its done but for the grill (ugh!) which I have yet to rivit in. I'll get around to that so I can actually fight in this. It goes with a war rig that consists of leg, arm, and body hidden under a tunic and trousers and a wopping big flat oval shield coppied from the Dura Europus find (110 cm tall by 90 cm wide).

Wow, thank you for the complement. Its means alot comming from you. I think the answer to your question is yes. Its based after the nearly complete 4C helmet find from Egypt. I realize that the photo I posted above came out much smaller than I intended. Here's another try:

A VERY pretty helmet! Almost enough to make me change to Late Roman! But then I guess I *am* doing Late Roman - 11th century AD!

It's not really armour if you haven't bled on it.
