Hi Per,

Sorry to have been slow to respond about your querry. I am in the process of moving, and recently had a computer crash that lost most of my e-mail correspondance. I post here in the hopes you see this.

Regarding the harness of Duarte del Almedia that you asked me about. My most recent information (mid 20th century) regarding it still placed it in the Cathederal at Toledo, although I have problems believing that it still might be there - perhaps it is in the Cathederal treasury. I haven't seen it surface in any museum collection.

Sorry for the delay, I hope this helps, I finally managed to unpack the relevant portion of my library. If anyone else who reads this knows of the location of this partial harness (cuirasse, chapel de fer, and leg harness, with associated mail, please let us know.

Hi Bob, Per here. Iam not at home so i post from a friends email.

The armour of Duarte de Almeida is still in the Cathedral. It seams that nobody in recent years except Jose.A.Godoy has seen it and wrote about it. Even Boccia dont seam to have known of its existence.

I am planing to go there this year to see it and hopefully get to examine it there. Its very interesting for those who has interest in italian armour from the late 15th.c

If i get to examine it i might write a paper on it , perhaps for the ARS??

It compose of full cuirass chapel-de-fer and legharness also its mounted on a dummy vearing a brocade doublet that i dont know the age of??

Idont know of any mail belonging to the armour?

cheers
Per
