Hello.
On Monday, I ordered a harbor freight shear, so that I can actually cut decently thick sheet to make armour with. I have a sheet of 16 guage mild marked up, my forge is at a decent height, and is now truly portable (yes!!!! legs and no more silly red wagon which is way too low to the ground!) I have stuffed my hollow T stake with foam and fabric to deaden the sound, and I'm just waiting for the shear to arrive...urgh. oh la la I 'av 'ad eenoog of zees wayteeng! (tee hee, just been with frenchmen, and they talk funny!)
Thanks foir listening,
Archie

Archie,
I bit the bullet and bought a HF shear a couple of months back and I must say that it works very well. Nothing like my old B2, mind you, but good enough. The wait was no fun, though...they don't tell you until weeks later that the item is on backorder so be prepared to exercise patience.

It looks like to may even take the same blades as a B2...have to find one of my old one to check.

Good luck!
