I remember reading somewhere that almost all exposed edges of armour have to be folded or rolled, otherwise severe injury could result. Is this true?
This was an armourer's site I read this on, so maybe the motivation was more commercial than anything< but when I go to do my own pieces, is this something I have to worry about?
Do all armour edges have to be rolled?

Hi Aminata,
No, all edges should not be rolled or folded. It should depend on what was the authentic construction. The medieval armourer knew what they were doing and were also thinking in terms of ease of manufacture and safety. Even today, you don't need to roll all edges. File them, make them smooth, yes, but roll, no.

They do not all need to be rolled.
If all edges are rolled, your armour won't work.
Look really carefully at the real stuff, and roll the edges they did.
If you look carefully enough, you will find that some of the 'rolled' edges aren't really rolled - they are just bumps on the edge to look like a roll.
