My New Helmet

I just finished this helmet tonight. It was made for me by Lord Rafn. It is 14 gauge stainless steel. I Love it. Sooner or later I will atach a leather or chain mail drap to it, and redo the brass nasal with one that is etched. But for now, it is good enough for me.

Very nicely executed. I have always liked the looks of the forward peak and I like the shape of the cheek plates. The slats in the back should be great for air flow. Perhaps the flash made the finish appear a little uneven. The finish appears streaked a little. Very fine grit wet sandpaper applied in one direction, or a scotchbrite pad may even it out some.
I think the helm looks great! I would be proud to wear such a helm.

Handsome hat! I love the forward-swept point.
