Need pattern and measurement help - elbow cops

I used to have a set of instructions that showed you how to make an elbow cop pattern based on measurements, and I have lost it. Does anyone have something like this, where it shows the pattern piece and tells you how to make one from custom measurements?
Thanks!

What kind of elbows, and to what patterns?

Just a simple wingless cop is all I need. If I remember correctly, it looked like an elongated diamond with squared or rounded off ends. The instructions included how to measure the elbow, and then how to incorporate those measurements into the pattern.
Thanks,
Cat

Why don't you just do a conical and stitch it up one side? The way you measure is to bend your elbow, and then measure side to side across the point to the depth you want.

Are you referring to Gundo's essay on making joint armour?
I think it covers the measuring/patterning phase in the way that you are mentioning.

Cat, I think that tutorial is under the essay section, Subsection of Armour Techniques and tricks, titled: Constructing Articulated Joint Armor - By: Gundobad (Andrew Stanbarger).
Its not bad. The armourer I've done a small amount of training has a slight variant on the ratios used in that essay. Sadly I can't remember what they are.

Now, I have also lost my mind apparently so if anyone knows where THAT is, please let me know.

There should still be a graphic of the basic shapes of all the pieces to make a basic suit of plate in patterns here... either under W.S. giltner or Okami.
As far as the custom measurements : over the padding they wear: 3 inches above the elbow to 3 inches below the elbow. thenfrom 2 inches past the side points of the elbow joint over the elbow to that same point on the other side.
4X8 makes a nice medium 5X10 a good large, and 6X12 MONGO sized.
