I have noticed that the dishingstump cracks after a while. At least that one i have now. How shall i reinforce it at the best way? Can i just plase a piece of metal around it?'

I've heard of people using a metal band or ratchet tie down straps.

Either way I don't bother because around here dishing stumps do grow on trees. Image

Bingo on both accounts. Image My first dish was a chunk of redoak limb that had blown out of a tree in the yard. I chopped a foot out of it and turned in on dad's wood lathe using the bowl turning attachment. Later when it started to dry out and crack I took a strip of scrap 16 and made a band for it and attached it with huge woodscrews. Image

I guess you wouldn't want to hear about the table saw, 2 band saws and the router table then? Image :P
