Added my latest project, a 16th century gorget.

Feel free to coment on these...I'm kinda proud of the linen-and-gesso covered, rawhide edged shields and the rolled top edge on the gorget.

I'm not sure why no one's commented on your stuff, sir! Those're some neat looking projects. I especially fancy the ailettes. Good job on those. Cheers!

Thanks guys!

The ailettes are 6x8 inches. The tooling looked better before I applied the gesso...I need to figure out how to add gesso without filling in all the detail I just tooled in.

I guess the thing about the shields that is so cool doesn't really come through in pictures. These are SCA combat shields that are pretty darn authentic and that I expect will hold up to serious weekly use. I need to do more "destructive testing" but I think the rawhide adds enough rigidity to the edge to make a real difference.

If I could find some aluminum channel that is really a "U" and not 3 sides of a square, I could make these even more durable without affecting the look.
