Last year I bought some pair of plate legs (german: Diechlinge). I bought them because I couldn't dish the knees. Still I don't have an anvil and the proper tools to solve that problem. So I thought I could modifie my old legs while I'm searching for one.
Here's come the problem. I wanted a design from the 15th or 16th century and rarely found good ones. So I thought I might get some ideas here.
If you got som fine pictures or links, please feel free so post them. I'm grateful for all ideas I can get.
And by the way? How to dish without an proper anvil (mine: 5 kg)? Heat the steel? But how do I undish the small buckles?
Greetings from Germany

Where in Germany are you? There are several good armorers on this forum that would be willing to help you.
And dishing knees doesn't require an anvil. Even I can do that.
If you are in Bayern, I could help you, but I am not so good at delicate historical work. I know somebody else in Bayern that can though.
Further north, there are other people.
You would have to come to the workshop of whoever helps you, but I imagine that they would be more than glad to give you a beer and a place to stay overnight. Most of them are like that.
