i am starting a school project where i will be modeling a suit of armour in 3d (think Pixar) and then importing it into a game engine (unreal tournament)
but i need some help getting reference photos for the project. my suit of armour is not very pretty so i was wondering if anyone would take some photos of themselves in full armour.
here are the requirements
-all metal plate armour (no leather or chain)
-closed face helm (i dont want to model a face because i'm going for a low polygon count)
-preferebly 15th century or later
i need four pictures. one from both the front and back with the arms spread and two from one side with arms both spread and at the sides. any pictures of the armour in action would also be helpfull
they need to be taken from waist hight to avoid foreshortining
the pictures can be scanned or digital but they must be a high enough resolution that i can destinguish small details.
if anyone can help me out with this i would be greatly apreciative. i will gladly make a custom avatar out of the 3d model and send you tons of pictures of the character when i am done.
just post if you have any questions
thanks

the first picture is pretty good
it's a perfect suit of armour to model but i would be building the 3d model right over the pictures so if the camera isn't right on the final piece can look wierd
if no one has anything else i will try and use it
the hand stand is a nice trick too
thanks alot

If it will help you, here is a video of the armour in use:

If nobody else has been able to provide you with anything better suited to your needs, I will take some more photos this weekend, trying to stay within your parameters.

that would be great.
some tips on taking orthographic photos is to have the camera operator stand farter away and zoom in, this helps flatten the image and get rid of some foreshortining of the feet and head
your suit is just what i was looking for and i'm really in no hurry. i am getting a degree in video game design and i plan on using a suit of armour model in a class i will be taking next quarter.
thanks alot for helping me out

I'm using Maya
i could draw it myself but i would like to use a real suit as a reference
it helps to get a sence of depth even in the orthographic veiws
this is a project i did using photos rather than drawings
