Would 18g mild be good for arms?

Mild or stainless: I prefer making 18ga vambraces and rerebraces with a 16ga elbow cop.

If using spring steel, I think that I will make 18ga elbows and 20ga vam and rerebraces.

18 mild is great if you like banging dents out of your armor. I made my knight marshal a new set of arms completely out of 16 ga and some heavy leather to replace the old ones. I got sick of having to repair them.

But I'm told that we in the Outlands swing a pretty heavy stick [meaning we hit hard] so if you're in a lighter hitting kingdom/group/whatever, 18 might just be the thing for you.
