139+89+49 = 277. Not that bad for complete low profile armor. Just add in some demigaunts+baskets/full gaunts, a gorget, a helm, and a tunic/fighting pants and you've got a full kit. it even comes in XS and XXXL...
am i going to go to hell now?

I've worn some of that
it's not nearly as comfy as you'd expect. All that poly foam was hot as hell, even with the mesh.
The shorts would be great for pre/low medieval personas with no thigh protection.
You also would need kidney protection as the sides and belly are not all that covered, they'd never pass inspection. The version i tried also would have required beffing up the sides of the knees and elbows.

DING! got it in one. I would have to look at the knees and elbows closely, as well as kidne protection before passing that rig out of hand.

(on Pennsic) I know that movie. It is the 13th warrior. A bunch of guys in armour that doesn't match itself or anybody elses, go on a trip and argue and get drunk and get laid and then fight Tuchux.

Yeah, looking at the elbows and knees, doesnt look like they wrap around enough to cover the points to the sides.
Plus, though it might be light, it all looks a little to bulky.
Heck, you could buy a 4x8 sheet of ABS for under a $100 I think, and basically be able to make every single thing you need but the helmet from it.

Yeah, don't forget to paint your eyes silver and yell "you keep what you kill!" whenever you win a fight....
I wouldn't trust it. It serves a fundamentally different purpose. Falling off a bike once is a lot different than getting repeatedly struck with a baton. Plus, bike armor is designed to keep you alive, not completely unbruised.
Brian Price sells an upper body outfit that looks like this and was designed for waster combat. I'd say that's the better bet. I think it's cheaper, too.
Still not as cheap as a homemade CoP, splinted arms & legs, and entry-level cops.

Stuff I will trade for: PWM controllers, steel sheet/rod/bar (4130/410/1050/toolsteel), ITC, casting supplies, wood tools, silver, oxpho blue, gun stuff (9luger/357mag/12g/7.62x54R/22LR), hammers, stakes, or pitch me!
