Couldn't figure out which forum to put this in.....
What good armor/weaponry museums are there in Rome?
I'll be down there this time next month. So I'm taking requests on pics, if you give me either a time period/piece type or a specific piece. See my pics from the Neuburg in Vienna, if you like those photos, expect several hundred more.

I believe there is only oee museum with armour and it only has a couple of pieces, Castello de San Angelo. There could be more, dunno. Try talking to a tourist organization.
Or at least, that is all I remember finding.
If you take a relatively short train ride up to Florence, there is the Stibbert. And Florence is a MUCH nicer city than Rome, IMHO.

Well the Vatican has some armour. Certainly some Greek and Roman stuff. The best preserved hoplon if I recall correctly. But Id bet theyve got more behind the curtain too. I mean, the guards were 16th century pieces, and have been for quite a while.

I vote for Florence too.
The Stibbert has a boat load of stuff.
The Bargello also has some things (even some non-armour).

Let's put it this way. I live in Italy.
We're going to Rome. What, if any, armor-wise stuff is there to see?
Florence is next on the list, but that might have to wait till after a deployment.
And Florence is NOT a "short" train ride from Rome.....

When you live in Sicily... it is.
EuroRail gets you there in 90 minutes (I think that is short, used to ride that back and forth to work every day) for about 48.00 Euros. I have done day trips before, based out of Rome.

We're spending five days to see Rome. And we're based in Northern Italy, Florence is 3 or 4 hours from us, we can go back.
