Perhaps he's common knowledge, but I had not heard of this gentleman prior to accidentally running into his website while doing a web search at work. What wonderful pieces he's made though! Of course, only a major institution can afford a pikeman's corselet with 700 man-hours in it (even if he's only getting minimum wage, which I hope isn't the case) let alone this gorgeous 3/4 suit. One of these days, when I'm rich and famous... or just rich!

This is the close helmet from a 3/4 suit faithfully copied from Mauritz of Nassau, Prince of Orange's suit now in Austria, which was commissioned by the Royal Netherlands Army and Arms Museum in Delft. Whoa! Check out that bluing!

I followed the two seasons of armouring courses he gave a couple years ago. I think the best things I learned there was how to feel the shape of the piece you're working on, and even more patience. He has an amazing eye for detail, and will not finish any piece if it's not perfect by his standards.
