Armor points, especially 3/4 legs (14th century)

Post by William Frisbee »

OK, the search feature on the Archive is rather broken...

I want to point my new James River Armoury legs to my jupon (well a gambeson right now, till I pay Flonzy to do my jupon), is there any site or information that can help me do this the right way or at least in a way that is not going to have me wrapping a belt around my waist... remember, I'm trying to go as traditional as possible with my kit.

The legs themselves are very close to the Churburg #13 legs...

I'm fairly sure the churburg #13 doesn't have legs.

I'm no help with pointing to a gambeson though.

Matt,

I thought this

was #13... I could be way off base though as I have no reference materials other than the net and you guys here...

Hi Evil_Merlin,
Your half right. The legs in that picture are labeled CH S12 in the new Churburg book. [They renumbered some things] They are from the same time period as the rest of the harness, but cannot be placed with it directly. The rest of the harness is listed as CH S13.

Ok I was just thinking funny. You're right.

IIRC though those legs are composite to the rest of the harness. Of course I could be remembering incorrectly. But they are of course with the churburg #13 harness.

Sometimes my brain just doesn't work right.

Where can one get the new Churburg book? None on Amazon or Barnes & Noble, did find a few at book collectors but they were 1st printing and were $2000-$3000!

I'm fairly sure you can order it directly from churburg. Off of their website.
