This is an aventail I've been working on for the helm that WhiteBat made for me earlier this year. The mail is welded stainless by Master Knut.

This is like the 10th attempt, after f'ing up the leather strip way too many times... I kept getting waves... or one hole wouldn't line up for some stupid reason.

Next step is to trim around the face opening, and then find a wire to run through the vervailles, and wrap the bottom grill bar to the mail itself alot better than it is right now.

Mmm, purty. As long as your bargrill gives sufficient coverage under the chin, you're going to have yourself one heck of a hat there. Floreat Atlantia!
