Now that topic got your attention, didn't it?!
You know these ads for fancy expensive sportcars, with scantly dressed ladies draped over the car to make it more attractive and sell more?
Well... The concept must have been a couple of centuries older than the car, as seen on this painting in the Alte Pinakotek in Munich, by Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640), "Die kronung des Tugendhelden":

Now why didn't I think of that as a sales argument?

I prefer them to the skinny things that pass for fashionable these days. I'm afraid I'd break the sticks; give me enough to hang on to, a bit of padding in case the ride gets rough...

Ditto. I would rather run my hands over a full figured woman than a boney one any day.

Stephen:
Actually, the "Rape (re: Abduction) of the Sabine Women" is a Classical Roman tale.

Thanks. I had saw it once in a book many years ago and I guess there must have been biblical painting in it so I just thought it was as well. Was it Pagan roman or later?

Story is from right around the founding of Rome, Romulus was still King. Primary sources are Plutarch and Livy, both writing much later.

I'll second Owen and T-Bob. Women *need some shape. The two above are a *bit flabby for my tastes though...I liek shapely but firm. Mmmm.
I hate seeing ribs or hip-bones or knobby knees. Makes me want to wretch.

I always though the ultra-skinny women who are now, sadly, in vogue look disturbingly like they were just released from Auschwitz, which I do not find particularly appealing in any respect...
I think they had it right in the '60s. Like the women in the early James Bond movies. As the Big Bopper said, "Oh baby, you know what I like!"
Lecherously,

I've looked at the picture, those women don't look too flabby to me. They actually look like they have some muscle tone. They may be big-boned, but thats another topic.

The pre-raphaelites of victorian England had a good eye for the theme of "naked women - men in armour":
both in a romantic version:

and the more ambigous and suggestive version

At first glance you might think that this is the picture of the noble hero who is about to untie the maiden in distress, after killing her abductor...
But can you really be sure it's the hero who is left standing?

Though I have to add some captions to those pictures, let's see, Pre-raphaelite #1 "Darling, I can see myself in that breastplate- no really. Take it off so I can put it on."
And number #2 - "No! Stop before you ruin his arming jacket! Do you have any idea how long I spent sewing that thing!?"
Now, any word on when I'll see a picture of half-naked men swooning over a woman in armor? I'd think there'd be a fantasy paperback out there somewhere...

Well, like I said....a *bit flabby. Stressing only just a wee wee tiny wee bit. Other then that, all I have to say is two words... two glorious, delicious and sweet-round honey-hipped words.
Monica Belucci.
Pardon me awhile...............
